Transport: Oil Prices Rise as Maersk Introduces Surcharges
Cost risk in European road haulage is clearly increasing: supply disruptions have pushed up oil prices, while Maersk is introducing emergency inland surcharges from 16 September in parts of the Nordic and Baltic regions. Transport: Netherlands cuts road tolls by 22.3% from 1 September
The Netherlands is temporarily reducing the per-kilometre road toll for trucks, requiring route prices to be recalculated promptly from 1 September. At the same time, closed crossings between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with changes to EU customs data, increase the importance of diversion planning and data quality in customs clearance.
